FAQs

Can I book a private tour?

Yes, we can accommodate any size of group, however when booking with less than 8 clients there will be a premium. There are many places to discover in South Devon and we will change our carriers to provide you with a truly memorable experience. An adventure through the landscape, with the promise of fine food and fine wine. We have already developed new routes that will be available soon.

What should I wear?

Think English climate! It is best to come prepared for any eventuality. Please check the tour itinerary for specifics of your tour. We recommend you bring good footwear for unstable ground and comfortable warm clothing for the river cruises. We supply umbrellas and waterproofs when we may encounter rain. You may prefer to bring your own and you can leave them on the executive minibus.

Can I come on my own?

Yes of course. Over the coming months have a look back as themed tours are advertised. We will be running specific singles tours, party tours, ladies’ nights hen nights and events. Please contact and you may find that even our regular tours have other singles on them. Don’t be shy – come and meet like-minded people.

Do you produce romantic experiences?

Yes, however, this will come with a premium, please call for a quote. We deliver exclusive luxury and romantic days. You will be wined and dined in a luxury and privately chauffeured prestigious vehicle along with your personal guide. We will organise the day to feature stunning aspects that will create truly memorable experiences.

I am organising a corporate event

We can cater for any event. Whether it is an office day out or a ladies night out. Please complete the booking form with your details and preferences. We can cater for more than 12 people by working with you to produce a bespoke itinerary.

Where will we meet?

Each tour meets at one of the departure locations as above for tea/coffee before departure. We ask that you are there at least 15 minutes before departure so that you are able to enjoy a relaxed drink and briefing over the itinerary before we leave.

I have food allergies

Potentially all of our products may have come into contact with nuts. We only use local suppliers for products and our food is prepared by top chefs in highly rated restaurants and all ingredients/possible contaminations are labelled. However, it is up to you to inform us that you have an allergy or have not tried shell fish before. Therefore, there is a participation statement that highlights your need to advise us. We are happy to work with you to find a menu that will tantalise your taste-buds should you not wish to have a certain aspect of the food or drink. A full list of food for each tour is available in the trip itinerary.

What if its raining?

If the weather is miserable we don’t want you to be. We have contingency plans in place to keep you dry and a warm minibus on hand at all times. There are two estuary crossings and our walk through the vineyard where we are exposed to the elements. You could just stay at the bar. The South West weather whips across sometimes bringing four seasons in one day. You could be wet at 1100 and having sundowners at 2000. We will give you advance notice when we need to cancel and work with you to re-supply your tour.

What if I have mobility issues?

We are able to offer each safari without any physical elements, but you would miss out on features that make up the advertised tour. Please contact us for a bespoke safari that we could develop with you and the places we can access. We hope that in the future we will be able to cope with any demand that we get for our safaris.

Can I bring anyone under 18?

Our advertised safaris are specifically aimed at adults and the inclusion of children may jeopardise the other clients’ experience. If you book a private/bespoke safari We can cater for children under 18, but we would need to know your requirements in advance and then can produce adapted itineraries.

Can I bring my pet?

Due to the nature of pets, we have to consider this on an individual basis. We have catered for pets in the past. However, in the height of the season this is more difficult and will depend on the other clients as much as the destinations we explore. Please feel free to contact and where we can we will do our best to satisfy your requirements.

What if I suffer with motion sickness?

Please inform us of this with your booking form. We would suggest that you take your usual remedy prior to departure. We are never in the vehicle for more than 60 minutes and our drivers are set to “slow”. Please let the guide or driver know before departure as we can also change the seating arrangements. We would hate for you to have any discomfort!

What vehicle will we travel in?

We only use executive vehicles. Sometimes we may use prestigious vehicles for smaller parties. All are fitted with air con, heaters, cool box with refreshments, binoculars, tour itinerary, waterproofs, umbrellas and blankets.

Can I travel by public transport?

For the conscious traveller, looking to reduce your ‘foodprint’. We fully recommended you travel to Torbay via train. Take the steam train from Paignton to Kingswear, cross the passenger ferry into Dartmouth and arrive in the early evening for a real adventure to begin.

Can I stay locally?

We have teamed up with exclusive local hotels and can offer you packaged accommodation to stay in your chosen departure location. This is the easiest point of access as we will meet you in the hotel lounge the night before. Clients who stay independently will need to make their own way to the departure location. Please be aware that you will further need to access parking, which can be a concern in some destinations. And for your ability to drive after the tastings. Please check in with your accommodation provider, alternatively please click on the links below who offer free parking..

Dartmouth – The Royal Castle Hotel
Torbay – The Cary ArmsThe Grand
Totnes – The Seven Stars Hotel
Salcombe – Salcombe Harbour Hotel and Spa

Can I change my departure location or drop off point?

We only operate according to the tide in order that we can access places not always possible. Therefore, you cannot change your departure place within 48 hours of the day of your tour. However, should you wish to stay in Torquay and do the Dartmouth Tour please advise as we may be able to offer you a shuttle to your departure destination. This may come with a surcharge depending on the location. It will also incur time added at the start of the day and at the end. Please allow up to an hour.

We could return you to another finish point if it is within the drop off area. We ask that you discuss this in advance in case this will disrupt our regular service. Please notify your requirements along with your booking form.
